During the Walt Disney Studios CinemaCon held this WednesdayAvatar producer Jon Landau introduced the trailer of the expected first sequel from Avatar. As she revealed, the new movie will be called Avatar: The Way Of Water Y Landau took the opportunity to discuss movie release strategy from the screenwriter and director James Cameronwhich is currently supervising from New Zealand the completion of the film so that it can be released next December 16, 2022.

Landau began by announcing that they will begin re-releasing the original movie Avatarsuch a smart decision as almost essentialsince there are teenagers they weren’t even born when the first movie came out so it looks like it makes sense to get everyone familiar with Pandora before the new installment. Of course, during her speech, Landau boasted of the timelessness of history by Cameron. “One of the strengths of Jim Cameron’s scripts is that They are always universal and identifiable themes“, said. “And there is no a more identifiable theme at the center of each of our four sequels than that of the Sully family, Jake and Neytiri’s family.”

Given the repeated changes of structure and the sum of the sequels, Landau cleverly emphasized the independent nature of the films, as well as their interconnectedness, an approach that also offers a exit if Cameron’s gamble doesn’t pan out and the studio (or the hearings) decide they don’t want to see more Avatar movies before they are complete the expected cycle. “Each sequel will play out as a stand-alone film. Each story will come to its own conclusion, and each film will offer audiences a resolution. emotional in each and every movie,” he said. “However, when you look at it as a whole, the journey through all four films will create an even larger and more connected epic saga.”

“With the first Avatar, we set out to move the limits of the great screen”, he explained Cameron in a pre-recorded video. “With the new Avatar movies, we’re pushing those boundaries even further with the 3D, with the high dynamic range, with a high frame rate, a higher resolution and realism much higher in our visual effects.” Despite his aptitude for employing cutting-edge technology, Cameron insisted that his effort be combines perfectly with a good narration and some great performances. “He has been an amazing adventure exploring Pandora again with our friends Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang, for not Mention our new cast members: Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis and this incredible group of extremely talented teenagers, which quickly highlighted in their roles. We wanted our return to Pandora to be something really special.”

“Every shot was designed for the biggest screen, highest resolution, and most immersive 3D available.. One more timewe proposed maximize the limits of what cinema can do. And I think we made it. I hope we have made it. I hope when you see the movie in december you are okay”.

Dolby provided those present glasses 3D to show trailerand although the 3D does not seem like an interesting sum for cinematic experience, it is clear that this technology has improved substantially over the years. The clip didn’t say much. on the historyto from the movieit was mostly a visual review of the landscapes of Pandora along with several of the main characters. But the scenes where they were flying or diving underwater allowed us to see the storytelling potential of 3D projection.

Avatar: The Way Of Water promises to be an odyssey as technical as visualregardless of whether we end up wanting see more sequels or not from Avatar.
