AEW Rampage Results April 29, 2022

Welcome to the 39th episode of AEW Rampage, broadcast by TNT and YouTube through the Space TV channel. In this week’s show, the main attraction will be the defense of the ROH Television Championship by samoan joe versus Trent Beretta. Besides, Darby Allin Y Swerve Strickland will fight for an opportunity to be part of the Owen Hart Tournament.

Owen Hart Tournament Qualifying Match: Darby Allin w/Sting vs. Swerve Strickland

Both fighters struggle at the beginning of the fight. Darby knocks down his rival and locks him in an arm-to-arm lock. Allin pushes himself with the ropes to make a maneuver but Swerve dodges it, Darby locks his rival in a padlock. The action moves to ringside, Darby launches and applies a Stunner to his rival, Darby looks to launch again but Swerve intercepts him with a knee. Swerve gets on the edge of the rong and connects a kick to his rival. Strickland takes over the fight, climbs the third rope and connects with an elbow to the rival’s back. Darby is punished in the corner and takes advantage of an oversight to lock Swerve’s leg in a key. Darby can’t hold the key and Swerve recovers and applies a Brainbuster. Swerve climbs on the third rope to jump but his rival dodges and knocks him down. Darby Allin gets on the third rope and launches but Swerve intercepts him with his knees and applies a super kick, covers but the count reaches two. Swerve takes Darby to the edge of the ring and Suplexes him to the outside of the ring. Ricky Starks enters the scene but Sting confronts him so that he cannot intervene. Both fighters return to the ring and Darby surprises Swerve with a modified Pin to take the victory. Winner and qualifier: Darby Allin.

Chris Jericho is at the commentary table and out of nowhere Santana and Ortiz appear to attack Jericho.

Jade Cargill, Kiera Hogan and Red Velvet vs. Willow Nightingale, Trish Adora and Sky Blue

Jade and Blue start the action. Red Velvet quickly takes over and corners her rival in her corner to attack her. Kiera springs into action and punishes her rival with a kick, Blue recovers but Velvet enters to help her rival. Adora and Jade go into action, the champion knocked down her rival, Adora’s companions enter the ring to defend her but Hogan and Velvet quickly intercept them. Jade applies a Jaded to Adora to take the victory. Winners: Jade Cargill, Kiera Hogan and Red Velvet.

Keith Lee vs. Colten Gunn w/Austin Gunn

Both measure forces at the beginning of the fight, Colten tries to surprise Lee with some blows but is quickly blocked. Keith Lee applies a double machete blow to Colten, seeks to apply it again but Colten escapes. Austin Gunn distracts Lee and makes him bounce off the ropes, Colten takes advantage and hits his rival, corners Lee to punish him but Lee quickly recovers and repeatedly knocks down the Gunn Club member. Colten recovers and looks for a Fameasser but Keith dodges it and applies a Big Bang Catastrophe to take the victory. Winner: Keith Lee.

Danhausen enters the scene to issue a challenge to Hook, who responds quickly and enters the ring to face Danhausen. Hook tells him that he wants to fight right now. Mark Sterling interrupt the confrontation and Tony Nesse enters the ring to attack both fighters, Sterling joins but Hook recovers sends Sterling and Nesse out of the ring. Danhausen tries to get the rivals away from him but Sterling and Nesse leave on their own. Danhausen offers Hook his hand but Hook rejects it and leaves.

ROH Television Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Trent Beretta w/Orange Cassidy & Chuck Taylor

Beretta tries to lock Samoa in a padlock but he quickly breaks free and knocks Trent down. Samoa connects some blows and machetes to his rival, Trent goes to ringside to recover, Samoa launches against Pel but Trent dodges him. Trent launches a Moosault against Samoa and applies a few machetes to him around the ring, Samoa recovers and knocks down his rival with a kick. The action returns to the ring, Samoa knocks down his rival and applies some machetes and blows to him. Samoa locks Trent in a headlock, who tries to recover but is quickly knocked down by Samoa. Trent cannot recover from Samoa’s attacks, who hits him with heavy machetes to knock him down. Joe locks Trent in a key and knocks him down. Samoa tries to apply a Powerbomb but Trent recovers and sends Joe to the outskirts of the ring. Beretta launches against Samoa on the outskirts of the ring. The action returns to the ring, Trent surprises Joe with a knockdown and applies a Tornado DDT, looking for the count of three but without success. Samoa recovers and applies a Powerbommb to his rival, applies an STF but Trent manages to reach the rope. Samoa intimidates his rival with some blows, Trent responds with a machete but Samoa knocks him down, goes in search of the Muscle Buster but Trent dodges it. Bertta tries to fight back but Joe violently knocks him down and hits him with a Coquina Clutch for the win. Winner and still champion: Samoa Joe.

At the end of the fight, Samoa Joe and Trent Beretta shake hands as a sign of respect. Joe is interviewed but is quickly interrupted by Jay Lethal, Sanjay Dutt and Santam Singh. Orange Cassidy faces Singh but Jay Lethal knocks him down. The action moves to the ring, Lethal attacks Joe, referees and AEW officials arrive to bring order. The segment ends with Lethal and Joe trying to attack each other but being stopped by the referees.
